As we work to model the pricing for Care-First, a key reference will be the Manitoba Public Insurance (MPI) 2026 General Rate Application, it can be accessed here.
This Committee has received the table on Accident Benefit Comparison, which focuses on the differences between Alberta’s Care-First system and the MPI system. These tables compare benefit levels under the current Alberta tort system, MPI’s system, and the proposed Care-First system. The differences will highlight areas where we need to make adjustments to the data and assumptions for the model, in addition to differences related to demographics, economics, frequency, severity, etc.
This Committee has received the table on Bodily Injury Comparison, which focuses on the differences between Alberta’s Care-First system and the ICBC system. These tables compare benefit levels under the current Alberta tort system, the ICBC system, and the proposed Care-First system. The differences will highlight areas where we need to make adjustments to the data and assumptions for the model.
