Follow our guidelines for establishing and revising rating programs, including explanations, instructions, and technical guidance when preparing filings.
This technical guidance should be used by insurance companies when developing a filing that is to be submitted to the AIRB, including requirements previously issued under circulars or bulletins. The guidance applies to all classes of business unless otherwise indicated.

The Collection and Reporting System (CARS) enhances the submission process used to make an auto insurance rate filing or pay a cost recovery invoice. CARS collects the data that was previously provided in Appendix A.

During a filing review, AIRB staff will ask questions about unclear or unanswered areas. This document contains sample questions that some insurance companies may encounter.
The AIRB may exempt insurers who write only fleet, garage, or experience rated risks from the filing requirements. The insurer requesting an exemption must submit the Fleet Confirmation Form and reconfirm the nature of its underwriting activity bi-annually.
